Catalin Bucur reviews – Dental surgery
I believe that nowadays it is essential to share both the difficult moments and the positive experiences in the healthcare system, because every true story can be of help to someone in a similar situation.
Personally, I am glad to be able to report an extremely pleasant experience – and I have to admit that I don’t know how many of you have had such an experience in a dental clinic. Unfortunately, in general, going to the dentist is associated with fear, discomfort and sometimes even frustration about cost or lack of empathy. That’s why I feel the need to give a complete and honest feedback about my case, in the hope that it will help someone looking for a safe and affordable medical solution.
Diagnosis and medical solution
It all started after a routine dental check-up, which I went for because I felt a slight discomfort in my upper jaw. The doctor recommended me to have a radiological investigation to understand the exact cause of my symptoms and the interpretation was surprising for me: on the X-ray it was clear that there was a cyst localized on the upper jaw. I was informed that the only viable solution was surgery to remove it.
I received a first proposal for intervention, accompanied by a treatment plan and an estimated cost. However, my instinct told me to seek a second opinion – not because I didn’t trust the first doctor, but because it is absolutely normal and healthy to look at several perspectives, especially when it comes to surgery.
This is how I ended up, through a recommendation, at the clinic where Dr. Catalin Bucur practices.
I scheduled a consultation, and on the appointed day, I went to the clinic, bringing with me the CD containing the radiological investigations.
You know you’re in the right place
When I arrived at Bucurdent I appreciated the calm atmosphere and professionalism of the staff.
Dr. Cătălin Bucur received me and carefully analyzed the images I had brought. He clearly explained that I would need to undergo surgery, outlined the associated risks, the possible methods that could be used, and how each stage of the procedure would unfold. He was extremely open and patient, answering all of my questions — a level of care and professionalism I’ve sadly encountered less and less in recent times. He showed me the location of the cyst on the radiological images and explained how the excision would be performed and what the recovery process would involve.
He presented two possible options for the procedure — with or without bone grafting — each with its own advantages and disadvantages. What stood out was that I was given the time to decide at my own pace, without any pressure or urgency to make an immediate choice. From the beginning, I was also informed about the costs, and I truly appreciated this balanced and empathetic approach.
After considering the options, I chose one of them and scheduled the surgery for the following week.
The surgery was performed under excellent conditions. Everything went without complications or pain during or after the procedure.
The recovery was easy and the result was exactly as it had been presented before: no surprises, no discomfort.
Dental surgery – How much did it cost?
In addition to the professionalism and the sense of safety during the medical process, I’d also like to highlight the financial aspect — the procedure cost less than half of what was initially quoted by the first doctor I consulted. This lower price in no way meant a compromise in quality; on the contrary, I felt I was receiving much more personalized and empathetic care.
My conclusions
In closing, I want to note a few things that were very important to me:
- The patience with which all medical options were explained to me;
- The steadiness of the doctor’s hand during the procedure — firm, yet incredibly gentle — brought no pain or anxiety.
- Total transparency in communication and costs;
- Empathy and respect for the patient, which you rarely find today in a private medical setting.
